Triathletes will discover Triathlon de Portocolom and Let’s Tri Series at the Triathlon Show 2014 in London

The Triathlon Internacional de Portocolom, to be host in Portocolom –Mallorca on April 13rd and recently awarded as the the “Best Triathlon race of 2013” by the Balearic triathletes and the regional Triathlon Federation, and the innovative Let’s Tri duathlon and triathlon series (Alcudia Duathlon on March 22nd and Pollença Triathlon on September 6th), will be present at the Triathlon Show 2014 in London from February 28th to March 2nd. British athletes will discover these high quality events really well connected by airplane to the rest of Europe, with fantastic weather conditions all year long and the best spots for racing and training.

Triathlon Internacional de Portocolom and Let’s Tri Series will be showcasing their high quality triathlon and duathlon events in the Balearic Islands (Spain) at the Triathlon Show 2014 in London, from February 28th to March 2nd. Visitors to the Triathlon Show will be able to get all the information about Triathlon de Portocolom on April 13rd, awarded as the “Best Triathlon Race of 2013” by the Balearic Federation and local triathletes, and Let’s Tri Series with the Alcudia Duathlon on March 22nd and Pollença Triathlon on September 6th. Moreover, Kumulus’ crew ­–the local company organizer of these events, will explain the best options to travel to Mallorca, where to stay and train, and how to spend some great tri-days in Mallorca.

Este es el vídeo en FULL HD que he realizado para Ican Sevilla Triathlon 2014, un medio ironman de calidad que se celebrará en 2014, y que tiene una pinta estupenda. Muchas gracias a todo el staff de Ican por las facilidades ofrecidas para planear y hacer el vídeo, a los triatletas Alfonso y Cristina (que aunque se apellida Quintero nada tiene que ver conmigo), elegidos en un simpático concurso a través del facebook oficial de Ican y que han mostrado una paciencia infinita ;)

También he de agradecer el apoyo y las infinitas facilidades ofrecidas por el Ayuntamiento de Sevilla, concretamente el área de Turismo por cederme gran parte de las imágenes (los planos aéreos de la ciudad, que son preciosos).

En breve publicaremos también el photoshooting que hicimos con Alfonso y Cristina, con algunas imágenes muy bonitas uniendo triatlón de larga distancia y Sevilla.

Ironman Mallorca el 27 de septiembre de 2014, ni Barcelona, ni Sevilla (ni Valencia…)

27 de septiembre de 2014 será la fecha en la que Ironman organizará un “full” Ironman en Mallorca: 3,8 km de natación, 180 de bicicleta y 42 km de carrera a pie. El circuito será el mismo que el del Ironman 70.3 pero a dos vueltas (a no ser que algún municipio se niegue a tener cerrado al tráfico el pueblo durante 7-8 horas), cosa poco probable. La organización lo hará oficial cuando tenga el ok de tráfico.

Así, Mallorca se impone al resto de ciudades españolas y, además, ganando ‘con la gorra’, ya que la franquicia estadounidense no recibirá ni un euro público en cuestión de patrocinio directo. A pesar de que Valencia se había subido recientemente también a la carrera por albergar el primer Ironman en la península... Y poniendo dinero. Hasta hace 3 años era política de empresa para Ironman: sin dinero de la ciudad no había prueba. Ahora, viendo el potencial del Ironman 70.3 se salta este pilar básico en su historia y se pone en marcha incluso sin tener todavía cerrado un patrocinador privado para el título. Saben que llegará para 2015, y que en 2014 sólo con las inscripciones no les costará dinero la inversión.

Ironman lo hará público durante su prueba de Hawaii, en Kona, en la entrega de premios, mientras termina de negociar con los pueblos mallorquines por los que transcurre el trazado ciclista. Tanto es así, que la ‘blatessa’ (la alcaldesa) de Alcudia, epicentro balear en temas de training camps, ya ha anunciado en su radio local esta noticia y confirma lo aquí escrito: http://alcudiaradio.jimdo.com/

Ironman y sus gestores europeos se han cansado de esperar en Barcelona, su sueño, y han descartado Sevilla y Valencia por sus estudios de mercado. Las consideran ciudades poco interesantes para su mercado internacional, caras y sin valor para posibles patrocinadores privados. Mallorca es la apuesta segura, perfectamente conectada, ideal para los centroeuropeos y saben que colgarán el cartel de “sold out” rápidamente, incluso sin promoción.

Otra de las medidas interesantes es que el mítico Ironman de Lanzarote no se verá afectado (en principio), y ya se ha convertido en una especie de “aldea gala” por encima de un afán mercantilista. 

Total, dos pruebas Ironman en España, ninguna en la península. ¡Enhorabuena Mallorca! Por algo son potencia turística.

Let’s Tri Ibiza, a new Olympic distance Triathlon in the idyllic island in October

Let’s Tri series unveils a new Olympic distance Triathlon in the hearth of one of the most well known island in the World: Ibiza. Let’s Tri Ibiza is going to be held on October 26th. This is the perfect and challenging event to finish up this season racing in a natural paradise and the coolest place to performance and to have fun after the event. Let’s Tri Ibiza, un triatlón olímpico de ensueño este 26 de octubre

El circuito Let’s Tri añade una nueva y esperadísima prueba a su calendario: el triatlón olímpico de Ibiza el próximo 26 de octubre. Los triatletas podrán cerrar la temporada completando los 1,5 km de natación, 40 km de ciclismo y 10 de carrera a pie por el circuito más espectacular y atractivo por el corazón de una de las islas más famosas del mundo. Let’s Tri Ibiza será la última prueba de 2013, aunque antes llegará el Triatlón de Pollença el 28 de septiembre, con uno de los recorridos más espectaculares en Europa.

Let’s Tri Ibiza se une al calendario internacional de las series de triatlón, duatlón y acuatlón Let’s Tri en las Islas Baleares. La prueba ibicenca será este próximo 26 de octubre, y servirá para que triatletas nacionales e internacionales cierren la temporada deportiva nadando 1.500 metros en las cristalinas aguas del Mediterrano, pedaleen 40 km por un precioso recorrido por las carreteras de las las islas Pitiusas y corran los exigentes 10 km finales hasta lo más alto del casco histórico de la ciudad, Dalt Vila, atravesando sus murallas hasta el puerto. Este nuevo triatlón de distancia olímpica en Ibiza se convierte en una referencia internacional de final de temporada y será el punto y final para muchos del año 2013, y que previamente tendrán la opción de participar el 28 de septiembre en el Let’s Tri Pollença, que promete ser uno de los triatlones más espectaculares y duros del calendario balear.

Registrations for Triathlon de Portocolom 2014 are officially open

The 17th edition of the Balearic triathlon will be held on 13 April 2014 in Portocolom, Mallorca, and the registrations for the competitions over 55.5 and 111km are already open from today on trough the website. More than 700 athletes enjoyed the 2013 edition and the number of participants in 2014 will be limited to 800. Portocolom, located in the southern half of the east coast of the Balearic island of Mallorca, about 70km from Palma, in one of the earliest triathlon events of the European season and the bike ascent to Sant Salvador is one of the most interesting spots to test the form of the triathletes.

Triathlon Internacional de Portocolom is going to be one of the earliest triathlon races in Europe again in 2014. On 13 April, Portocolom will host the 17th edition of this successful and best liked event in Spain under the 55 and 111 format (1km swimming, 100km cycling and 10km running). The registrations for Triathlon Portocolom 2014 are officially open on www.triathlonportocolom.com and there will be a limit for the participants: only the first 800 athletes may sign up (400 slots for each race).

Triatlón todo el año en Mallorca con Let’s Tri / Triathlon for everyone all year round in Mallorca with Let’s Tri series

El circuito Let’s Tri de acuatlón, duatlón y triatlón mantiene su oferta de deporte y diversión en Mallorca y encara la recta final de la temporada 2013 con algunas de las competiciones más esperadas por los deportistas locales y europeos que acuden a la isla en busca de pruebas únicas en los mejores entornos naturales posibles. Tras el éxito del pasado Triatlón Sprint Ciutat de Palma, llega el Acuatlón CN Arenal el 27 de julio y el potente Triatlón de Pollença el 28 de septiembre, con uno de los recorridos más espectaculares en Europa.
